There was a time, and up until he sold the property in 2016, that Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner owned the expansive mansion complex beside the 13th tee on the North Course of the L.A. Country Club and host venue for this week’s 103rd US Open. Hefner purchased the famed Playboy Mansion in 1971 for $US 10m, and reportedly sold it for $US 110m.
