European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke will gain pre-Hazeltine leadership experience when named Monday morning UK time by the European Tour as a rival captain in the 2016 EurAsia Cup. The second staging of the now biennial Eurasia Cup will take place in March next year and again in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. McGrane used his new Odyssey ‘Lucky 777’ putter to good effect taking just 28 putts in a four under par 67 and similar tally to be just outside the top-20 heading to the weekend rounds at the Bad Griesbach Resort course some two hours east of Munich. Scott Jamieson kept in sight of the Porsche European Open leaders as he deals with an unfamiliar Race to Dubai standing. The Glaswegian was five under par with two holes to play but bogeyed both in a  round of 70 on the (Franz) Beckenbaurer course at the Bad Griesbach Resort two hours east of Munich. Three players – The England’s trio of former Irish Open winner Ross Fisher (65) and Graeme Storm (67) along with South African Charl Schwartzel (66) – share the lead on 10-under par but under a continuing ‘preferred lie’ ruling.
