Woods: Looking & Sounding Ripe For A Hopeful Return To Competition.

After the delight and thrill in watching and listening to Tiger Woods over the past three days, the 15-time major champion looks and sounds ready to return to formal PGA Tour competition. Woods and 15-year-old son Charlie brilliantly teamed in going so close to securing a maiden PNC Championship victory, losing out to a Bernhard Langer eagle putt as the first extra play-off hole on the host Ritz Carlton course in Orlando. While a Team Tiger maiden success would have been such a great storyline, Tiger ...

Prince’s Grant – A Majestic South African Golfing Jewel

I have spoken often of the great pleasure in travelling the world reporting on the ancient club-and-ball game and also equally teeing-up in so many different countries. This includes also teeing-up along the shoreline of the world’s oceans and seas and to then have the good fortune to enjoy a round on the opposite shoreline of the same ocean or sea. An example of what I am referring is Australia’s Crescent Head Golf Club course and recently featured on this website (See: http://www.golfbytourmiss.com/2024/12/crescent-head-country-club-a-stunning-6-hole-gem-overlooking-the-mighty-blue-pacific/ ...

Cotswold Downs – Tops In A Stunning South African Golfing Masterpiece

It’s timely in writing this golf course feature (late December 2024) as it is less than two weeks shy of the 25th anniversary of my historic ‘First Person To Hit a Golf Shot on a Golf Course In 2000‘ and also just a month away from 25-years when I played my first game of golf in South Africa. My visits to the Rainbow Nation sadly have been just a few and each to be present at DP World Tour tournament venues in Joburg and Durban. A maiden visit was to Joburg in the second week of ...

David Law tees-up for only a second occasion in five years at this week’s AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open looking to make a sizable monetary deposit ahead of the up-coming Festive Season break. Law, 33 has competed on the Indian Ocean island just once before and that being in 2019 and also in his last event of the year, some eight months after his maiden DP World Tour triumph in Australia and in his maiden Tour season. The Showdown Turns Into A Letdown.

For all its pre-match hype the much-anticipated ‘The Showdown’ between two of the PGA Tour’s best against two rival LIV Golf stars ended with little fanfare, little excitement and resulting in a one-sided letdown. It was first in meen’s professional golf with two of the PGA Tour’s best players in Scheffler and McIlroy up against two of the best LIV Golf stars in Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau at the Shadow Creek course outside of Las Vegas. There really just one ...
