For too long Russell Knox has parked himself on the couch watching TV coverage of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Not this year and with Scotland’s leading golfer making his debut appearance in the pro-amateur event starting Thursday on three courses in the east of Scotland.

The inaugural Graeme McDowell Invitational tees-off later today on the Greystone Golf & Country Club course in Birmingham, Alabama.
Nineteen university teams will compete over two days (36-holes Monday and 18-holes Tuesday) on the Founders course that also each year plays host for The Champions Tour’s Regions Tradition.
Among those teams is the University of Alabama (UAB) and with McDowell a member of the team while in university from 2000 to 2002.
