Star Northern Ireland golfer Gareth Maybin if forgoing the chance to qualify for the U.S. Open and marry long-time girlfriend, Liz McMekin.
The couple will tie the knot at 3pm in Belfast.

An embarrassed Lee Westwood fell flat on his backside but then picked himself up to throw down the BMW PGA gauntlet to the front-running leading duo of Luke Donald and Matteo ‘Manny’ Manassero.

For a second year running, a Wentworth war of words erupted at the BMW PGA Championship and with course re-designer Ernie Els again having to defend changes to the West course.
On a day when all players uniquely honoured the memory of Seve Ballesteros, it was Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter and Paul Casey slamming Els’ second reworking of the ‘Burma Road’ layout.

A special tribute to Seve Ballesteros proved a huge hit with both players and spectators.
The players were asked to wear blue-and-white attire in honour of Ballesteros who captured the second of two BMW PGA titles exactly 20 years to the day.

Crestfallen glamour golfer Nick Dougherty is facing a stiff fine after taking a club to a tee marker during the first day of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.
