Walker Cup Captain Far From Pleased With Irish

It’s understood GB & I Walker Cup captain Nigel Edwards is far from pleased with a decision by the Golfing Union of Ireland not to nominate four players for this week’s prestigious Links Trophy at St. Andrews. Portstewart’s Paul Culter is the only Irish amateur competing over the Old and New Courses at the Home of Golf. It’s always been customary for the GUI to choose four players to compete but this year they have surprised Links Trophy organisers by failing to take ...

Pensioner Banned For Two Years After Crashing Into Monty

An old age pensioner has been banned from driving for two years after crashing his van last October into a car being driven by Colin Montgomerie. The victorious European Ryder Cup captain’s car spun twice and was lucky not to be hit by an on-coming lorry.  ...

Ramsay Blames Only Himself After Bizarrely Missing Chance To Qualify For US Open.

Ernie Els will be demanding an apology from Ian Poulter after revealing Poulter’s negative Wentworth comments were a personal attack on the triple Major winner. Poulter had just doubled the last on Friday before very inflamed remarks that included saying:  “I don’t like this golf course, period. End of story.” Els ended his ...

Heated Words On Wentworth Range Ahead Of BMW PGA Final Round

There were heated words on the Wentworth practice range this morning ahead of the final round of the BMW PGA Championship. Spain’s Alvaro Quiros and John McClarin, the caddy to England’s Luke Donald, were observed in a discussion that looked far from acrimonious. Donald and Quiros played the third round in each other’s company and it’s apparent from what took place on the range this morning (Sunday) that McClarin was not happy with the Spaniard’s on-course etiquette. There was plenty ...
