Rory McIlroy may be hoping to become the second youngest ever World No. 1 if he captures this week’s Honda Classic but he’s light years away from being in the same class as Seve Ballesteros.
In the absence of Luke Donald, McIlroy is out to make the most of his opportunities after falling at the final hurdle in last week’s WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship.
If McIlroy is successful in driving away with victory in Florida he will not only become the youngest official World No. 1 (since ...

Questions are again being asked of Rory McIlroy’s ability to close out tournaments after he failed to deliver victory in the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship.

But when it mattered the reigning U.S. Open champion was comprehensively beaten in the final by American Hunter Mahan who collected the $US 1.4m first ...

All hope Tiger Woods had of capturing a fourth WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship was snuffed out on day two by compatriot Nick Watney.
Watney, who defends his Cadillac Championship next fortnight, showed Woods the Arizona exit gates with a 1up victory on the Dove Mountain course.
A day earlier Woods had hung on a day earlier to defeat Spain’s Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano but there was no denying Watney on day two.
Woods departure will surely make a dent in Arizona crowd figures while ...
