Scot David Law grabbed an equal lowest opening score this season after his caddy took ill and the Aberdonian’s manager jumped in to carry the bag on the opening day of the Hero Open at the Fairmont Resort on the outskirts of St. Andrews.
Law, 31, capped his equal lowest opening day score this year of a seven-under 65 in 17 events this year with five birdies in succession from his 12th hole in bright, warm and unusually calm conditions on the Torrance course.

Ramsay Delights Daughter But Weighs Up His Post Turning 40-Years Options
Six-year-old Olivia Ramsay is the proudest youngster in her Edinburgh school class.
Sitting at home in her bedroom is the gleaming Cazoo Classic victory trophy won by her father last Sunday afternoon at Hillside.
Olivia was just a twinkle in her now 49-year-old father’s eye when he last won on the DP World Tour over seven years ago in far off Morocco.
Ramsay had promised her a trophy a few years back but then close earlier this year only to suffer the bitter disappointment in dunken a ball ...

Darren Clarke made it back-to-back Irish-born over-50 Major Champions in denying Padraig Harrington victory in the Senior Open Championship by Rolex at Gleneagles

This week’s event, like so many other tournaments in recent months, has again been dominated by the game’s best airing their views on the subject continuing ...
Why My Second & Third Irish Open’s At Mt. Juliet Were More Memorable Than The First.
My attendance at the second and third hosting of Irish Open as a member of the golfing media was clearly more memorable than my first.
I first attended the Irish Open in 1993 when it was staged at Mt. Juliet for the very first time. It was also the last to be sponsored by Carrolls.
Nick Faldo make it three Irish Open win’s in a row having won back-to-back in 1991 and ’92 at Killarney, and therein lies his ‘void of emotion’ win being part the reason in not treasuring the ...

Scot Ewen Ferguson admits he’s felt being ‘constantly battered’ as he continues to eye a Dutch Open double delight heading to the weekend rounds of the championship in Cromvoirt.
The reigning Qatar Masters champ heads to day three sharing 19th place but only six-shots shy of the lead in the 102nd edition of the premier Dutch event on the host Bernardus course for a second year running.
Portugal’s Ricardo Gouveia double-bogeyed the 11th but then eagled the 12th in a round of 66 to head the ...
