McIlroy Top-Favourite At 7-1 To Win Maiden Masters

Saudi Arabia … World No. 2 Rory McIlroy is top favourite with PaddyPower installing him at 7-1 to finally win a maiden Masters next April at Augusta National.

McIlroy will be making an 11th straight appearance in the new seaon’s traditional first Major Championship and with his best finish being fourth in 2015, and since that finish the Irishman’s never been outside the top-10.

Of course, McIlroy’s been so close to being fitted with a famed Augusta National green members jacket on a number of occasions including leading going into the final round at the 2011 Masters and then in 2018McIlroy and Patrick Reed teed off in the final pairing though with McIlroy three shots behind Reed.

Sadly, McIlroy went out to shoot a 74 to finish six back of the winner, Reed.

McIlroy has not tasted Major Championship glory since capturing the 2014 PGA Championship and also requires a Masters victory to join the elite group of currently five players to have won all four Majors.

Defending Masters winner, Tiger Woods heads into the Masters as a 10-1 favourite to win what would be a 16th Major Championship.
