Russell Knox Brilliantly Doubles Number Of Scots Into U.S. Open.

Russell Knox has joined Richie Ramsay in doubling the number of Scots into next week’s U.S. Open.

Some five hours after Ramsay qualified at Walton Heath in Surrey and Knox posted scores of 66 and 71 to share fifth place among the leading 14 at a similar 36-hole qualifier in suburban Columbus, Ohio.

Knox, and despite officials posting a USA flag beside his name on the scoring website, will now be contesting his third straight U.S. Open starting June 14th at Shinnecock Hills on New York’s Long Island.

After posing a third hole double-bogey near the start of his second round, Knox then stormed his way into this year’ second Major with four birdies over his closing five holes.
