For a very first time in his long and distinguished career double Open Champion, Greg Norman will be teeing-up on the secondary Web.com Tour
In fact, Norman will be hitting the opening tee shot of the 2017 Web.com Tour and a Tour he never once competed while a playing member of the PGA Tour.
Norman designed in 2003 the Emerald Reef Course at Sandals Emerald Bay in Great Exuma and host for the January 8th starting The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic.
The Great White Shark will also be on-site during the tournament Pro-Am on Saturday, January 7, offering a clinic to resort guests and taking part in a player Q&A at the awards dinner before hitting the opening tee shot to kick off Sunday’s first round.
The tournament will be the first of two Web.com Tour events contested in The Bahamas over a three-week stretch in January, with each tournament featuring an unprecedented Sunday-Wednesday format and all eight rounds broadcast live on Golf Channel.
Footnote – Norman competed in 330 PGA Tour events from making his debut in 1979 to missing the cut in the 2004 International while he played in 13 Champions Tour tournaments from 2005 to 2012.
Not once did he ever compete in a Web.com Tour tournament.
