Stephen Gallacher was proud of his effort over the two days capping his second round with a 16th hole eagle in shooting a two under par 70 and a similar 36-hole tally at the Players.
“Two under is a decent score as I’ve played good these two days and despite three-putting the 18th o my ninth, it could have easily been a lot better,” he said.
“There’s really only been the one hiccup over the two rounds at that was taking double at 17 yesterday and really I got caught out by a wind change and landed two yards short of finding the green.
“But then today I had just holed an 18-footer for eagle at 16 so there was no reservations standing on the 17th this morning.”

Gallacher’s efforts, that saw him heading to the clubhouse sharing 37th place in the $US 10m event, is the third time in four stroke-play events in the States this year the Scot will play all four rounds.
And Gallacher agreed with the remarks of Tiger Woods that anyone making the cut could win the Players Championship trophy.
He said: “Absolutely and I could not agree with Tiger more as you are one good score, one score of 66 away, from knocking right on the door and that’s what happens around a golf course like this.
“And I am confident there is a 66 in my bag, and the good thing is that I got to three under at one stage on Thursday so it’s a matter of just trying to kick on.
“The only real problem is the wind as it’s swirling all over the place and you could be standing over your ball and you don’t know what the wind is doing.
“The key is making your score on the par fives and also keeping the bogeys to a minimum.”
