Twenty-year old Jordan Spieth seemingly has the golf world at his feet.
Last year the Dallas-born golfer captured the John Deere Classic over a five extra hole play-off and went close to a second PGA Tour win losing out in a play-off to Patrick Reed for the Wyndham Championship.
Fred Couples thought so much of his talent he chose Spieth as a ‘wildcard pick’ for the USA Presidents Cup side that was victorious at Muirfield Village in Ohio.
Spieth’s collective achievements in 2013 led to him being named the PGA Tour ‘Rookie of the Year’.
This week Spieth finds himself grouped with reigning Open Champion Phil Mickelson and defending Valero Texas Open winner Martin Laird for the opening two rounds of the $US 6.2m event.
However Spieth sought to play down suggestions he is the next Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy or Mickelson – check out his comments on the video below.
And while Spieth looks to win a first PGA Tour on Texas home soil this week, the young American had some advice to young golfers around the world when asked by a young girl working with the First Tee Program what advice he would offer young golfers who want to follow his path into the pro ranks.
Check out Spieth’s advice on our second video below.
