USA Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson says he’s so ‘sick and tired’ of seeing the US Team lose that he’s playing an ‘emotion’ card in the goal to win back the gleaming gold trophy.
With just six months to the Gleneagles showdown Watson’s declaring his team ‘Remember 2012. Remember 2012’.
Seventy-two years ago America and allies rallied behind the war cry: “Remember Pearl Harbor. Remember Pearl Harbour” to avenge the surprise Japanese air attack on the Hawaiian naval base

Now Watson’s rallying his Star Spangled side to avenge Europe’s Miracle at Medinah.
It was nearly two years ago Davis Love 111s American team was four points in front heading to the Sunday Singles but were then outclassed with Jose Maria Olazabal’s side earning 8 ½ points to claim victory in suburban Chicago.
Watson said: “We have something to prove.
“It that’s the only thing I have to say to the team, I’ll say, ‘Remember 2012. Remember 2012. What are you going to do about it?’ “
Watson, 64 was speaking ahead of this week’s Champions Tour event at Newport Beach in Florida.
And the five-time Open Champion has responded to Patrick Reed’s post WGC – Cadillac Championship “I am top five player in the world’ remarks.
Watson’s described the 23-year old, and youngest-ever WGC champion, as “street creed.”
But that’s all Watson will say despite Reed, who has won three times in his last 14 PGA Tour events, being currently is ranked fourth on the USA Ryder Cup points table.
However what Watson will talk about is being ‘sick and tired’ of seeing the USA Team lose to Europe.
He said: “I don’t look at my legacy.
“You guys write about my legacy. I don’t do anything about my legacy except do what I do, play golf.
“I wanted to be Ryder Cup captain to have the opportunity to inspire, if you will, help the Ryder Cup team win the Ryder Cup back because I’m sick and tired of us losing.”
