Big-Hitting Scott Hend’s Big Journey To Get A Cadillac Drive At Doral.

Australia’s big-hitting Scott Hend has spanned the globe to earn his place in this week’s World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship. in Florida.

Hend, who now calls Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida home, reckons he’s played competitively in 18 countries on four continents in 2013.

The former No.1 longest driver on the PGA Tour earned his spot in this week’s $US 9m event on the back of winning three times on the Asian Tour and an effort that saw Hend finish a career best of second on last season’s Asian Tour Order of Merit.

In 2013 Hend also competed in events on the PGA TOUR, European Tour, PGA TOUR of Australasia, Japan Tour and at Web.com Tour Q-School.

“To make a living in this game now, you have to be prepared to travel around the world,” said Hend.

This year, Hend already has traveled to Thailand, Dubai and New Zealand.

While many players in the Cadillac field had an easy, 85-mile commute from PGA National to Trump National Doral, Hend revealed he flew from New Zealand, where he competed in last week’s New Zealand Open.

And with thanks to my good friend Scott and PGATOUR.COM we can also show a selection of photos from his journeys over the past 12 months or so.
