Tiger Woods sported a pair of Star Spangled looking Nike shoes for the opening round of the Honda Classic but with his putting lacking plenty of gloss after a round of 71.
Woods wore a pair of custom Nike TW ’14 kicks that were submitted as part of a NIKEiD contest. Woods picked the shoes out of the thousands of different suggestions submitted.

According to Nike the color scheme was inspired by a number of different events.
“The designer, Dane Thompson, was inspired to incorporate patriotic colors to cheer on team USA in the Winter Olympics and the 2014 Ryder Cup, as well as in support of Woods at the 2014 U.S Open.”
However after needing 30 putts Woods could hardly boast inspiration in wearing the Red-White-and-Blue.
