The likes of Scotland’s Chris Doak and the Irish duo of Peter Lawrie and David Higgins could breathe a little easier after confirmation from the European Tour that the cut-off point for automatic 2014 Race to Dubai membership will go to 112th on the 2013 money list.
www.golfbytourmiss.com contacted the European Tour’s David Garland seeking to ascertain the situation with regards to the three Affiliate Members lying inside the top-110 on the money list.

It then prompted the Tour to issue a media release and post a story on their website confirming the situation with regards to 2014 membership.
The three – Sweden’s Jonan Blixt, South African Tim Clark and Sweden’s Carl Pettersson – had not played the mandatory 13 Tour events to retain membership.
But under Tour rules they had to be allowed the opportunity of advising the Tour as to whether they wanted to remain on the money list or be removed.
Clark and Pettersson agreed to have their names removed while Blixt will remain.
It means cut-off point for 2014 membership will be 112th on this year’s money list.
However what the Tour did not mention is that from 2014 all Affiliate Members will appear after those who finish inside the top-110 thus alleviating the confusion caused this season.
Doak had travelled to Australia for this week’s Perth International lying 105th after having jumped five places with his share of eighth place in last week’s Portugal Masters.
And late on the second day of the final regular event of the season and Doak looked assured of making the halfway cut at Lake Karrinup.
