It’s not clear whether he was afforded an invitation or not to Graeme McDowell’s wedding but World No. 6 Rory McIlroy was spotted on Saturday out at a restaurant with Manchester United superstar, Wayne Rooney.

Hours earlier Rooney’s side and McIlroy’s favourtie football team was handed a shock home ground 2 – 1 defeat at the hands of West Brom.

McIlroy and long-time good friend, Harry Diamond were spotted trailing behind Rooney heading into Manchester’s ‘Neighbourhood’ bar and restaurant which is described as bringing a taste of New York to the England city.

Two days earlier, McIlroy announced he was splitting with management company – Horizon Sports – to form Rory McIlroy Incorporated.
