The appearance firstly of 14-time Major winning Tiger Woods and then defending PGA Champion, Rory McIlroy caused mayhem among fans waiting to grab an autograph from the duo.
Woods appeared first walking over a footbridge from the Oak Hill clubhouse to the range.
The winner of 79 PGA Tour events, including yesterday’s concluding WGC – Bridgestone Invitational, was all set to sign autographs when the crash barrier holding back fans began to tumble over.
Woods quickly stepped away and thus avoiding any threat of injury and instead he headed for the range.
And as mentioned in my very first report from the 95th PGA Championship Woods walked right past me giving me the opportunity to shake his hand and congratulate him eighth Bridgestone triumph.
No sooner had Woods taken up a place on the range and McIlroy was headed back to the clubhouse.
However while there was again some anxious moments McIlroy kept a safe distance managing to sign a handful of autographs.
