Fortrose & Rosemarkie – A Golfing Gem

A number of the media covering the Barclays Scottish Open had the pleasure of playing Fortrose and Rosemarkie on Wednesday night.

The James Braid designed gem can been seen from Castle Stuart, laid out on the Chanonry Peninsula on the opposite and northern side of the Moray Firth.

Club Secretary, Mike MacDonald went to very great lengths to arrange the outing and despite a few of our colleagues losing out to the rain, those who stayed on were treated to a wonderful golfing experience.

And it was if Mike had an ear to the golfing gods because no sooner had we teed off and the rain ceased, and then as we made our way towards the start of the inward nine the wind suddenly dropped.

So special thanks to Mike, Club Captain Arthur MacArthur and Vice-Captain Phillip Taylor, and other club officials who went out of their ways to make us all feel so very welcome.

Here are some snaps from the afternoon.
