Rory McIlroy Signs On For $200m With First Task Promoting New Nike ‘Red’ Driver.

It one of the worst-kept secrets in golf sports giant Nike has signed World No. 1 Rory McIlroy to a long-term endorsement deal, and one of McIlroy’s first task seems to have been to film a advertisement promoting Nike’s new red driver.

And also featuring in the commercial is new best friend and the player who helped entice McIlroy away from Titleist, Tiger Woods.

Woods had signed on with Nike in late 1996 in a deal reputedly worth $43m.

Earlier this week, McIlroy and Acushnet, Titleist’s parent company, indicated they would not be renewing the five-year long contract with the 23-year old.
