Belgium’s top-ranked Thomas Detry continued his brilliant bogey-free display to be well in contention heading to the final round of the 25th hosting of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Detry took to the bright but testy windy conditions with gutso in signing for a stunning mistake-free seven-under 67 to end the round lying fourth at 16-under on the famed Old Course here at the Home of Golf.
The 33-year-old Detry is chasing a maiden DP World Tour success and is clearly going about the goal with a super display including not having dropped a shot over his last 47 holes.
Indeed since a bogey at his seventh hole on day one at Carnoustie Detry is 16-under for his last 47 holes, an effort that includes an eagle and 14 birdies.

“Great day”, said Detry.
“I got off to a great start. Same yesterday, I got off to a great start and my partner played well. Playing well as a team and that’s fun.
“I’m playing great golf, hitting every single fairway and hitting it to the right spot. Haven’t hit a ton of spots but taking care of the easy holes and doing pretty well.”
And looking ahead to the final round and Detry’s chance of a maiden DP Tour triumph he remarked: “It’s hard not to think about winning. The idea of having my picture on the bridge there with the trophy sounds pretty good to me.
“I’ll just stick to my routine, do what I’m doing well. I feel like I’ve controlled my mind pretty well the last couple weeks, actually, and it was the same story last week.
“Just stick to the process, and tomorrow will be a fun day. We’re expecting a little bit of wind tomorrow but the Old Course is still gettable. I think whoever wins tomorrow will have to shoot low.”
South African Casey Jarvis will take a two-shot lead into the final round having also signed for a 65 and move to 18-under as he seeks to win for a third time this season after capturing back-t0-back DP World Tour titles earlier this year.
England’s Matthew Jordan was also bogey-free on day three signed for a six-under 66 to be in second place at 16-under ahead of being joined sharing second by top Polish and LIV Golf star Adrian Meronk who signed for an impressive nine-under 63 at Kingsbarns Links.
