David ‘Double D’ Drydsale is primed for a double ‘W’ victory delight heading to the final round of the NI Legends tournament at Galgorm Castle in Northern Ireland.
Drysdale, and wife Vicky again calling the shots, has captivated Legends Tour fans with his bogey-free play over the opening two rounds on the famed Ballymena course in County Antrim.
The proud Scot has baged 10 birdies over his two rounds, four birdies in his opening four-under 68 while ‘Double D’ birdied five of his opening 11 holes on Saturday’s day two ahead of a superb sixth birdie of his day thanks to a birdie ‘4’ at the closing hole in score of a 6-under 66 for a 10-under tally.

The effort has Drysdale sharing the lead with red-hot New Zealander Steve Alker who carded a pair of 67s.
Alker, 59, has 25 victories on his pro career and 15 of those since turning 50 on both the PGA Champions Tour and EU Legends Tour.
The Kiwi also has won three times this year including the last two Champions Tour events – the Rogers Charity Classic and last week’s The Ally Challenge in Flint, Michigan. This week Alker is now seeking to make it three over-50s victories in successive weeks.
Drysdale will be determined he’s the one who’ll be stepping forward for a second Legends Tour success in some 10 months after his brilliant Tour break through ‘W’ last November.
As mentioned, Drysdale claimed a maiden win in Cambodia at the Vattanac Legends and since then has enjoyed some strong results early in 2026 with a T6 at the Barbados Legends and solo second place in Greece at the Legends Tour Trophy so he’s getting more and more comfortable being up near the lead.
And being comfortable has meant ‘Double D’ being the only man in the field to be bogey-free after two rounds.
“I didn’t actually know that, but there you go,” said Drysdale.
“It’s always good to be bogey-free. Yesterday was much tougher with the wind, so I felt like I played a bit better then, but I’m obviously very happy with that score after two days.”
Alker is contesting a fourth week in succession but a career first competing in Northern Ireland.
“This is my fourth week in a row — normally three’s my max — but it’s great to be here and playing another week,” said Alker.
“I think my game is just getting sharper as I play each week. My putting’s solid, I’m driving the ball pretty well. When you do those two things, you’re going to score okay.”
A second Scot in Alistair Forsyth is third two back of the lead at eight-under.
The trio – Drysdale, Alker and Forsyth – are out at 11am (local time) in the final group of the touranment.
