Englishman Joe Dean ended a 14-year wait since a maiden DP World Tour event as an amateur to capture a first DP World Tour victory wait thanks to a brilliant final round 63 at the Husqvarna British Masters at The Belfry.
Dean, 32, produced course record equallying nine birdie last day haul in the badly weather affected event to win by three shots in only his 70th Tour start after making his debut in the 2012 KLM Open.
The Danish duo of Jacob Skov Olesen and Niklas Norgaard, and each with closing 71s, shared second on 11-under.

“All those painful hours and all the work I put into this, it’s finally led to something,” Dean said. “I’m happy”.
It was a family success too. Dean got married to Emily following the Open Championship in July, and she was his caddie this week.
“I can’t thank her enough for what she has to put up with, with me,” Dean said. “It was bad enough off the course, with the lows and stuff. Now it’s on and off the course. I hope I made her proud.
“I’m at a loss for words. I think we’re both just really happy and a bit rabbit in the headlights at the minute.”
And while Dean may now not have to worry about making ends meet delivering groceries, he revealed he still feels much the same person, although life has certainly changed,
“I still see the guys every now and then,” he said. “Yeah, I enjoyed it for most of the time. It’s just a completely different life, completely different lifestyle.
“I still see the vans going up-and-down the road every now and then, so yeah, I keep in touch.”
All credit to Dean who had turned professional in 2016 before earning his card for the 2024 European Tour at Q-School but did not initially compete as he could not afford the travel cost around the globe to participate, and worked as a delivery driver for Morrisons supermarket.
He rejoined the Tour in June 2024 securing a second place finish a month later at the KLM Open. Dean finished the ’24 season in 37th place on the Race to Dubai and collected over €1m in prize money, the top Q-School graduate of the season.
Dean capped his 2025 season with second at the Nexo Championship in Scotland.
Teeing-up as the World No. 292 and lying 74th on the Race to Dubai Dean’s success has seen him jump 61 places to be the new R2D No. 13th.
As well, Dean’s Euro 510,834 top prize cheque has taken his career Tour earnings to Euro 2,409,498.
