DeChambeau Soaring With Pair Of Eagles, A Round Shy Of Back-To-Back LIV Golf Success

It’s all the two’s for Bryson De Chambeau on the third day of the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa.

The double US Open champ brillianlty grabbed two eagles to remain two shots clear of the field as he seeks a second LIV Golf title in succession at Steyn City close to Joburg.

The winner of last week’s LIVGolf Singapore again is again the one to beat posting a flawless seven-under 64 in moving to 21-under par and staying two clear of South African favourite Branden Grace

with Jon Rahm lurking at 18-under and tied with Texas-based Mexican Abraham Ancer.

With the year’s first major just over two-weeks away, DeChambeau is very much a form player.  He capped golf’s traditonal ‘moving day’ birdieing his first and fourth holes ahead of holing his second shot for a ‘2’ at the par-4 ffith hole.

He then eagled the par-5 10th hole and rounded off a superb round with a birdie at the last.

DECHAMBEAU, RAHM PREP FOR MASTERS: This week at Steyn City will be Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm’s final tournament appearance before April’s Masters at Augusta National, in which 11 LIV Golf players are invited.

Although the course doesn’t fully replicate Augusta National’s conditions, both players are using the event to prepare for their quest for a green jacket, which would be a first for DeChambeau or a second for Rahm.

“I’m just going to focus on myself, man,” DeChambeau said. “I know it’s so cliche to say, but the more I focus on myself, the better I usually perform. I just want to get in my own bubble and focus on executing the best shots I can to prepare for Augusta.”

While DeChambeau is preparing his golf swing for the Masters, Rahm is using this week to prepare mentally.
