Crail Golfing Society is golf’s seventh oldest club and it is proud to announce work on the Practice and Performance Hub has picked-up pace with the site now considerably drier, and construction firm Algo have been able to accelerate activity to catch up for the delays caused by the heavy rain.
Algo’s construction team worked late into the evening to ensure the full concrete pour was finished in a single continuous operation. Building Control has since carried out its first inspection and we are pleased to report that they were highly satisfied with the quality of both the reinforcement cages and the foundation works.

Above ground, the steel structure is now being erected, bringing the framework of the new Hub clearly into view. This is an exciting stage in the build, as the scale and form of the facility begin to take shape against the landscape.
Internally, key services are also progressing well. The installation of the internal drainage and ducting systems is now complete within the building footprint, paving the way for further construction phases to advance smoothly.
So, it should not be long before members and visitor’s alike will enjoy covered practice bays in working your game.
Crail Golfing Society is located in the east corner of Fife, some 13 miles from the Home of Golf at St. Andrews.
The club boasts two but different golf courses – the famed Balcomie Links designed by legendary Old Tom Morris in 1895 and a second 18-hole Craighead Links course, and a the first 18-hole design by now famed American-born course designer Gill Hanse.
