Jamieson Superbly Ends With A 64 & Share Of Ninth For A Second Year Running At Mauritius

Scott Jamieson heads into the Christmas festive season break on a joyful note after he amazingly ended his year for a second year running posting an eight-under 64 and also a share of ninth as he had done a year ago at the AfrAsiaBank Mauritius Open.

Jamieson grabbed an eagle ‘3’ and six birdies in superb bogey-free 64 for a share of ninth place at 12-under on the host Heritage La Réserve Golf Links at Heritage Bel Ombre.

The effort was a fine reward for the Florida-based Scot who had shared the lead at five-under in round one of the co-sanctioned Sunshine and DP World Tour sanctioned event.

And as mentioned, Jamieson’s 64 comes exactly a year after he also signed for a closing 64 at the 2024 Mauritius event and also to share ninth place at 12-under.

“Really pleased with a 64 as it was a great way to end the tournament and also on a real positive note in this last event of the year”, said Jamieson.

“The conditions were not as demanding as the past few days and I think that was reflected in the scoring, so overall it’s been a decent week.

“The eagle on five was a great momentum lift as it was also on Thursday, so overall really pleased.

“Looking forward now to putting the feet up for a short time, spending Christmas with the family and then getting back into it later next month in Dubai”.

Jamieson’s effort, and after missing the cut last week in Joburg, has seen him now placed 66th on the Race to Dubai money-list while he’s also picked-up 19 places on the World Rankings to be the new World No. 354th ranked golfer.

New Mauritius Open winner Jaycen Schaper has seen his ranking jump 90 places in the past three weeks after finishing T2nd at the Nedbank Challenge and now winning back-to-back with success a week ago in Joburg and now Mauritius.

In doing so, the super-talented 24-year-old matched fellow South African Louis Oosthuizen who won the same back-to-back events in 2024 while Schaper’s eagle ‘3’ at the second play-off hole in Mauritius was an amazing of what he had achieved in the play-off last week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
