Sandin, who secured his Tour card a week ago in finishing second in the Tour’s Q-School, was six-under through 13 holes of his last round but spoiled chances of a possible second straight second playing his closing four holes in two-over.
“I wasn’t really hitting it the best on the front nine but was getting the most out of my game”, said Sandin.
“I started to strike it better on the back nine but knew I needed to be around eight under for the round to stand a chance. But I pushed a little too hard in the closing holes and went for a birdie putt on 15 but missed the one coming back, but I knew I needed to press at that stage.”
Nonetheless, the 22-year continues his impressive form having won as an amateur June last year on the Tartan Tour and in turning pro he’s followed the likes of current top-ranked Scot Robert MacIntyre onto the MENA Tour.
The Tour remains in Portugal for next week’s Rolear Algarve Classic ahead of the Festive Season break.
