Palm Harbor, Florida ….
While Seamus Power is staring at having to sit out the next three week’s of PGA Tour competition but not for a minute will the affable Irishman intend to be entirely putting his feet-up.
Power returned to his Las Vegas residence following his sharing 30th place in today’s closing Valspar Championship, and a sixth four-rounder in his seven events this 2026 season for the recently-turned 39-year-old, and also double PGA Tour winner.
Unless he qualifies next Monday (March 30th) for the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, unfortunately he’ll be missing the up-coming PGA Tour double in Texas and also The Masters.
DETERMINED TO KEEP KNOCKING LOUDLY ….
As #Ireland affable Seamus Power @PingTour says his @ValsparChamp disappointment does not spoil his bigger PGAT quest

It’s not what Power would wish but then they were the cards dealt him this 2026.
Though like all other aspects in life, Power seeks to do better and whether inside the ropes or note, the affable Irishman is full-time committed to improve. This was no more evident when asked his thoughts over the four rounds of 72, 68, 70 and a closing 72 for a two-under tally here at the Innisbrook Resort.
“It’s disappointing because my game is right there,“ said Power and with his wife, Julia watching on.
“I’m just not quite putting it together. It’s just frustrating because there’s a lot of good stuff and not even really many mistakes. Early today I just kind of compounded a couple of errors and even yesterday, it was one under and could have easily been three, four or five under.
“And today, one over, when it could have easily been two or three under. So it wouldn’t be a weekend of what ifs, but more decent stuff, just not putting it all together, I suppose the easiest way to go“.
Looking back over the four Valspar round Power posted three birdies each round for a dozen birdies but also seven bogey and a pair of very hurtful double-bogeys at the second and fourth holes on the final day.
“I’m playing a lot of steady and consistent golf but again this week, I never really got anything going where it’s like, man, all of a sudden something goes in“, he added.
“It was just one of those weeks where, you know, those 15-20 footers, where you can almost turn a good round into a very good one, they didn’t quite go in and this and that. But look, it’s a tough golf course, and it’s just hard to get much going here. It’s hard to chase here, so you’re just trying to make some of those putts, and didn’t quite make enough“.
Though saying that, and you look at the leaderboard and recent weeks, including last week’s Players and the name Seamus Power is up there or therabout.
“Agree. It’s just that it’s every time. In the morning guys have it easier, and then in the afternoon, it’s harder. So every day, it just forces the group back together, and like, those guys won’t have it easy coming in. The greens are getting a little shiny and with the breeze, it’s a tough finish anyway,. So we’ll see it’s gonna be good finish.
“As well, it’s been long stretch on the road after four in a a row. So I’ll take it easy for a few days and kind of reevaluate.
“I’ll do the Monday qualifier for Valero Texas Open next week as it doesn’t look like I’m getting in to that one on my number. And then go from there.
“It’s a long stretch then with the elevated events in a row. So unless I can kind of do something, I’ll probably have a pretty quiet kind of couple months.
“But then I know it’ll be very hectic from Byron Nelson onwards. I think it looks it’s going to be really busy, so we’ll do our best. Even with Brooks playing, I think, I’m sixth alternate for Houston and maybe fifth alternate for San Antonio, so I’m unlikely to get in, unless something dramatic were to happen with a few guys.“
