Final-Round Notes – Sunday, February 8, 2026
Superbowl LX was just underway when Chris Gotterup made it two PGA Tour victories in three starts in 2026 denying Japan Hideki Matsuyama who had bogeyed the 72nd hole to send the WM Phoenix Open in a play-off.
Gotterup had posted a closing round 64 and watched as Matsuyama, and looking to join Arnold Pamer as a three-time WM Waste Management Open champion, bogeyed the last the send the event into play-off.
Then at the first extra hole Gotterup holed out for a birdie ‘3’ to make it four PGA Tour victories in 11 months.
Earlier in the day former LIV Golfer Patrick Reed made it two wins from three DP World Tour events.
The duo are the only golfers to have won twice this new season.
WOW! FOUR WINS IN 11 MONTHS …
And a second Chris Gotterup @PGATOUR this new season @WMPhoenixOpen@tpcscottsdale
