Patrick Reed will tick another DP World Tour first next week with confirmation he’s entered the 29th hosting of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in Doha.
For a fifth DP World Tour week in succession, Reed’s name appears in Category 1 of a tournament entry list – Winners of the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2018 and 2021-2025, and winners of Major Championships in 2018 and 2021-2026
And unlike the two Dubai events of 2026, Reed’s name is alone in Category and with his appearance in Qatar event sure to add a lot more interest than normal.
Up until the events of earlier this week, it was expected that Reed would return home to Texas after the two Dubai events but not so.

Reed entered this week’s Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, and with many expecting him to then remain in the Middle East ahead of travelling to Saudi Arabia for next week’s LIV Golf season-commencing tournament in Saudi Arabia.
However with Reed’s LIV Golf re-signing plans not going the way he had hoped, the 2018 Masters champ chose not to re-sign and now will remain on the DP World Tour until at least September, ahead of an expected return to the PGA Tour and then returning to the PGA Tour, where’s won nine times, for the start of the 2027 season.
Reed’s name stands out in next week’s field and with fellow major champion Padraig Harrington also remaining in the Middle East to join Reed, and next week celebrating his 500th Tour event.
And Reed will teeing-up not only seeking a fifth DP World Tour title but looking to become a first American-born winner of the event first won by Scot Andrew Coltart in 1998.
Also in the Qatar field is Ross Fisher, Ollie ‘Mr, 59’ Fisher and former LIV member Bernd Wiesberger.
Joining them is past Qatar winners Justin Harding (2019), Eddie Pepperell (2018) and Chris Wood (2013).
Wood tees-up as a three-time former DP World Tour winner and now a double MENA Tour champion having brilliantly won back-to-back to currenly lead the MENA Tour money list – winning the last event of 2025 in Spain and then returning to the Tour capturing his first event of 2026 last week in Cairo, Egypt.
