Newly-Married Varner 111 Struggling With His Wedding Ring

It’s customary to keep private and certainly away from the media if a newly-married sports star is having early troubles with an aspect of his or her marriage.

One of those is Harold Varner 111 but with the 30-year old PGA Tour pro spilling news of his concern ahead of teeing-up in this week’s $4m Bermuda Championship.

Varner 111 married long-time girlfriend Amanda Singleton  in a ceremony on September 26th at Gastonia in suburban Charlotte, North Carolina.

It’s not that the newly-married couple have any personal issues. Far from it.  It’s just that Varner 111 spoke of the issues he was having with his matrimonial ‘band of gold’ – his wedding ring.

“I’m just figuring out how to wear the ring and play golf at the same time,” said Varner 111.

“I sent the guy the measurement of my ring finger but it didn’t come out great.

“I went to sleep with the ring on and it cut-off the circulation in my finer so that wasn’t a great idea. You deal with it and it’s all part of life, so it’s better to keep in on. If I don’t keep it on I’ll lose it.”

His now wife made headlines in 2018 after Varner’s clubs were accidentally bent in the trunk of her car. Varner explained the situation which caused him to have to purchase a last-minute set of clubs ahead of the Wyndham Championship.

“There is a little railing in the back of the car for like — when old people get groceries and can’t reach in the back there is a little bar you can slide up to keep your groceries from coming back,” he said.

“The clubs, my 7-iron and my 4-iron got stuck in there. I didn’t know it. I get my 4-iron out and it’s like bent. I’m like, All right, so it’s only the 4-iron. Pull out 5-iron, it’s bent, too. What the?

“So I had to get a new set. Got a new set at Wyndham. I hit them terrible. It sucked. Didn’t hit it good. Live and you learn”.

The couple first met at an accounting class at Carolina University.
