Where Is Lefty Coming From With His Late Night Tweet To Tiger?

You wonder what Phil Mickelson was thinking about.

The golfer known affectionately as ‘Lefty’ has sure got the golf world in a spin in tweeting his long-time arch rival on Tuesday night (US time).

What prompted Mickelson to tweet Tiger?   Had Phil had too much to drink?   Was he wagered he could not tweet Tiger?  Maybe Phil knows something we don’t know about Tiger?  Is Tiger thinking of retiring?  Or is Mickelson saying a goodbye to Tiger as he embarks into the Champions Tour?

Who knows but have a read of Mickelson’s tweet to the 15-time Major winning Woods and make-up your own mind.

Mickelson cruised to victory in his Champions Tour debut last week, while Woods has mostly been out of contention during the PGA Tour playoffs. Both men will be in the field for the U.S Open at Winged Foot in two weeks.

Woods was asked last week in Chicago what he thought of Phil’s chances on the Champions Tour and responded: “He was already one of the longest hitters out here (on the PGA Tour) and now he goes to where he’s going to pick up a huge advantage off the tee.

“But you have to take advantage of that opportunity off the tee. His wedge game is off the charts, every wedge in there he’s going to put it inside of 10, 15 feet each and every time. Hole those, get momentum and keep it going.

“There’s no reason why he can’t win every event he plays out there. He’s got such a big advantage over the rest of the field just with sheer length.”

However, Woods has yet to reply to Mickelson’s tweet.
