DeChambeau Heading To France Thanks To Three Wins In Nine Events.

TPC Boston, MA …

Bryson DeChambeau delivered USA Ryder Cup Captain, Jim Furyk no other alternative than to hand him a France ‘captain’s’ pick with victory in the Dell Technologies Championship in Boston.

DeChambeau, 24 won for a second straight occasion posting a closing round of a four-under par 67 to also capture a third Tour victory this year by two shots for a 16- under par tally at TPC Boston.

DeChambeau’s win is a third in nine Tour events while he is also the first player in 10-years to capture the opening two events of the Tour’s ‘Play-Off’ series.

“It’s been a fantastic two weeks,” he said. “I’ve been playing incredible golf and hopefully I can continue playing great.

“Consistency has been a big thing for me. I’ve been trying to get that week in and week out, and I was able to kind of figure something out last week on the putting green, and that’s kind of progressed me to move forward.

“So, it’s all pretty cool. Hopefully I can keep riding this wave.”

The new World No. 7 had missed out on automatic USA Team selection in missing the cut in the recent PGA Championship but now after back-to-back wins, DeChambeau will be packing his bags for the 28th September starting Ryder Cup.

Justin Rose birdied four of his closing six holes in a round of 68 to finish second on 14-under par and in the process move to third on the FedEx Cup table.

The Bahamas-based Brit fought back from an indifferent start or four bogeys and three birdied through eight holes to bounce back from missing the cut in last week’s event in New Jersey.

“This was an interesting week for me and it was nice to kind of sign off here in Boston,” said Rose.

“It’s a tournament that we are going to miss a little bit.  It was kind of where my PGA Tour career started here, and it was nice to finish with a strong showing.”

Australia’s Cameron Smith inched closer to a maiden stroke-play Tour win finishing third for a second week round but missing out on a share of second with a closing hole bogey in a round of 69 for a 13-under total.

And Tiger Woods, and also certain to be afforded the third ‘pick’, struggled with a final day 71 to finish at seven under par.
