Erskine Earns Glowing Praise For Her Role In Royal Portrush Hosting 2019 Open.

Augusta, GA ….

Wilma Erskine, and the legendary Secretary/Manager at Royal Portrush Golf Club, found herself continuing to be lavished with praise on the occasion of the annual Tourism Ireland ‘Meet The Masters Media” night held following the opening round of the Masters.

Tourism Ireland’s Alison Metcalfe, who is the US-based Executive Vice-President, welcomed the Masters media and with a number of special guests in attendance, including the Ireland Ambassador to the U.S., David Mulhall who was born-and-bred in Waterford and a proud member of the Waterford Golf Club.

Also in attendance was legendary Ballymena-born actor, James Nesbitt who is member at Royal Portrush.

Nesbitt loves his golf as much as acting and competed in last year’s Irish Open Pro-Am and was one of Paul McGinley’s ‘Ambassadors’ for the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

Wilma has already won many plaudits in her quest to firstly get what was a stunndingly successful Irish Open to Royal Portrush in 2012.

The iciing on the cake will come in July next year with the staging of the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

And it was not only Alison who singled of Wilma for praise but also Ambassador Mulhall, the 17th Irish Ambassador to take-up residence in the States, but also on what is clearly an exciting first visit to the Masters.
