Palm Beach Gardens, Florida ….
Tiger Woods has had fans, signs and even a huge boulder removed in his career but never portable stands selling soft hot pretzels and another frozen lemonade s was the scenario on day one the Honda Classic at PGA National.
Woods was playing the 12th hole as his third of his round when he sent his drive way left and with his ball coming to rest right in front of the mobile food stand.
Also in Woods way was an adjoining ‘Frozen Lemonade’ concessions stand.
Unlike 1999 when it took a dozen beefy spectators to move a boulder during a Phoenix Open on this occasion just three were needed to move the ‘temporary obstruction’.
Woods was not interested in making a purchase of either a pretzel or a frozen lemonade as he had two sandwiches wrapped in aluminium foil to munch on during a level par 70.

In fact, Woods was just one shot off the lead early on with birdies either side of the 12th.
And despite the course being tree-lined Woods reckoned it played much like an Open Championship venue.
“It played hard today and it was difficult,” he said.
“It was different, like playing a British Open. You get a shot on the green and see a big puff of sand. But it was tough. It was tough all the way around. I just had to grind it out all day and very happy with a 70.”
Sweden’s Alex Noren, who lost out in a Torrey Pines play-off a month ago, posted a 66 to snare the clubhouse lead in the $US 6.6m field on four-under par.
