Riviera Country Club, Los Angeles …

Tiger Woods hosted a Genesis Open media outing today at the Riviera Country Club and among the questions put to the 14-time Major winner was his opinion of the golf game of newly-appointed US President Donald Trump.

The pair played 18 holes just prior to Christmas on Trump’s own Trump International course at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.

“I tell you what for a person is over 70 years old, he hit it hard.  I mean people don’t realise he’s that old and that he can rip it and hit is as far as he does,” he said.

“He keeps himself in pretty good shape and health, and has an inordinate amount of energy.

“When we played we walked all 18 holes and had a great time but at the time we only had about 10 security cards (smiling) following us, so I guess that has increased now.

“But we had a great day and I am sure he could break 80 here at Riviera if he were to hole a few putts.”
