Pulheim, Germany … No sooner had four-time Major winning Rory McIlroy reveal he will not compete in this year’s Olympic Games and Spain’s Sergio Garcia says he’s not 100% sure of travelling to Brazil
Garcia, as the No. 1 Olympic Games ranked Spanish golfer, has also expressed uncertainty if he will tee-up in Rio given the withdrawal of four-time Major winning Rory McIlroy.
“It did not come as a surprise to me Rory has withdrawn as everyone has their own agenda and priorities they do need to stick to,” he said on the eve of the BMW International Open near Dusseldorf in Germany.
“I am worried about a couple of things in Brazil, like security arrangements and the virus but then Rory is engaged to be married and if the Games were being held somewhere else then it would not be an issue.
“So I am not 100% certain I will be competing in Brazil but then let me put it this way, there it is a high percentage I will be there.”
