Crail, Scotland … Sheffield’s Matt Fitzpatrick made the most of a last minute decision to contest the Nordea Masters.
The Sheffield golf star fired a sizzling 65 to lead by three shots at 11-under par.
Scotland’s Scott Henry, who had just 26 putts, finds himself tied second at eight under par with former Ryder Cup stars Nicolas Colsaerts (66) and Ross Fisher (68) along with recent Spanish Open winner Andrew Johnston (69) plus Sweden’s Alexander Bjork (68).

Fitzpatrick sought a late invitation to compete in the event after believing he needed more competing ahead of next fortnight’s US Open.
And the second highest world ranked player at No.45 in the Swedish field made the most of his opportunities.
He said: “It’s always nice to have a bogey-free round in shooting seven under as more often than not it’s easy to have bogey-free round for one or two under but to shoot a 65 with no dropped shots was very pleasing.
“I just gave myself a lot of chances and I am sure everyone will laugh when I say I missed chances on 13 and 14 as it could have been eight or nine under.
“And I am feel good now having sought an invitation because I felt I needed to play one more tournament before the U.S. Open and having heard good things about the course it has proved to be a good decision so far.”
