World No. 1 Jordan Spieth is working hard balancing what is going to be a hectic season schedule that could see him make a first appearance in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
Spieth is already planning to head to Royal Troon early to get a first look at this year’s Open Championship venue.
And working strongly in Spieth stepping onto the first tee a week earlier at Castle Stuart is a change in schedule for the PGAS Tour’s John Deere Classic.
In 2013 the then unknown Texan and rookie pro was afforded an invitation to contest the John Deere Classic.
Spieth then joined a private jet full of his fellow pros flying from the States to Edinburgh where shared 44th place in a first Open Championship showing.

If Jordan Spieth gets his 2016 schedule in the right balance it may include an appearance in the Scottish Open.
He then burst onto the world stage late in 2014 capturing the back-to-back Australian Open and Tiger Woods hosted Hero World Challenge titles.
Last year, Spieth stormed his way to the top of the world rankings winning the back-to-back Masters and U.S. Open Major Championship titles and going with a whisker of making the St. Andrews Open play-off.
A week before journeying to St. Andrews, Spieth captured a second John Deere Classic, and the second of three regular Tour wins last year.
However, this year the John Deere Classic that Spieth has always been obliged to attend given the support he was afforded three years ago has been moved to August leaving Spieth free to spend a fortnight competing in Scotland.
“I’m not sure what my schedule is around the time of The Open,” he said.
“The John Deere is a few weeks later than normal this year so I will have to wait and see.
“So I can’t say for certain at this stage whether or not I may commit to playing the Scottish but it is something we will seriously consider. “

Castle Stuart – could see Jordan Spieth teeing up later this year in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open
And Spieth’s also uncertain what to expect not only when he gets to Royal Troon but two of the other venue Major venues this year– the U.S. Open at Oakmont, Pennsylvania (June 16th to 19th) and PGA Championship at Baltusrol, New Jersey (July 28th to 31st)
“Aside from the Masters I have not played a tournament at any of the other three Major venues this year on the schedule,” he said.
“I did play Baltusrol, and I played a practice round with Rickie (Fowler) after I missed the cut last year at the Barclays at New Jersey and that’s a great old style golf course, so very much looking forward to going there.
“I don’t know anything about Oakmont but then I’ve heard that is supposed to be one of the harder US Open venues, so I haven’t been there.
“I also haven’t played Troon but then Troon I know is very special given the history of the club, and really no different to any of the club’s that play host to the Open Championship.
“I’ve heard also Troon is supposed to be, along with perhaps Royal Birkdale and Carnoustie one of the more challenging Open Championship venues.
“And after going so close at St. Andrews last year I’m already excited about the prospect of playing well also at Troon later this year.
“I am certain I will go over early and get in a few practice rounds so that will be good.”
