MATCHES EVEN ON DAY TWO

Matches were even on day two of the 2015 Bushnell/Odyssey Lisbon Challenge at the Belas Golf Club in Belas, Portugal.

Rodger’s Dodgers went into the day leading 3 points to 1 but Reid’s Raiders stopped any further damage in halving the matches on the second day.

In fact, it was pairing of Roger Watson and Andy Braid who spearheaded the fight back defeating the Rodger’s Dodgers duo of John Howorth and Fraser Ireland 4 & 3.

The signature hole at Belas Golf Club - the par 3 17th and named 'Postage Stamp' and where three of the four matches today were decided.

Joe Duddy and Bernie McGuire combined in the second match moving to 4up early over the inward nine on the former 2011 European Tour Seniors venue before claiming a 2 & 1 success over the Reid’s Raiders pair of Eamon Scanlon and Dave Patterson.

Alastair McMeekin and Rodger’s Dodgers captain Peter Rodger then defeated Craig Bayne and rival captain Alan Reid also by a 2 & 1 margin.

And in the final match of the day George Morris and Danny McMullen dove-tailed superbly to ensure the day was halved in winning 2 & 1 over Frank Donnelly and Richard ‘Stitch’ Guthrie.
