Rival captains John Howorth and Frank Donnelly has surprisingly gone with ‘bed chums’ for the all-important Sunday Singles decider in the 2014 Crail Golfing Society Vilamoura Challenge.

John’s ‘Howorth Heroes’ enjoy a healthy 11 1/2  to  4 1/2 ad ahead of the ‘War on the Shore’ at Vale do Lobo’s Ocean Course here on the Portuguese Algarve.

As reported earlier ‘Frank’s Foes’ are going to have to reproduce a 2012 European Ryder Cup like ‘Miracle at Medinah’ effort if they are to return home to Scotland as champions.

In contrast, John’s side needs only to win one Singles match to claim a comprehensive victory.

And what two captains have done is to pair those sharing rooms here at the Dom Pedro Golf Hotel.  It means Frank and John will be out in the first match and followed by the likes of Danny and Alastair and Bernie and George who are sharing rooms this week.

In fact, all eight rooms are occupied each by rival players and there’s not one room on the sixth floor where there’s two players in the same team.

Whatever the outcome it promises to be an excitement packed final day.
