When Tiger Woods arrived at the Firestone Country Club on Sunday he had with him young four-year old son, Charlie.
Woods walked hand-in-hand with his son from the players car park to the clubhouse before taking to the course to capture an eighth WGC – Bridgestone Invitational title by seven shots.
Charlie was there at the back of the green when Woods also sealed a 79th PGA Tour victory to be now just three wins away from matching the all-time Tour record of 82 wins by the late Sam Snead.
It was the first time Charlie Woods has seen his father win and www.golfbytourmiss.com specifically asked Woods in his post-round press conference how special was it to have his only son present.

“Sam understands it now but it was the first winn he’s ever been at,” said Woods.
“That’s what makes it special for both of us. He’s never seen me win a golf tournament.
“Sam (daughter) was there when I won the US Open in ’08, and she loves to look at the You Tube videoes and look back to daddy. She loves looking at thats. and Charlie’s never had that, never felt what it’s like to be with the trophy. They always say, daddy, when are you going to win the tournament?
“It was a few years there, or a couple of years, I hadn’t won anything for a while. Last couple of years have been a little bit better, and they always want to know what place I’m in. Are you leading or not? That’s always a stock question. Not leading. Well, are you going to start leading? Well, I’m trying
“So this week was nice to be able to get the lead and I held it, and it was awfully special for me to have him here to witness it because he understands it now. He understands when I make a birdie, when I make par, and he understands the difference.
“It’s awfully special to be able to share that kind of moment.”
