Padraig Harrington Now Enters KLM Open – First Appearance In 11 Years.

Padraig Harrington continues to turn back the career clock as he’s now entered next fortnight’s KLM Open at Zandvoort.

It will be the first occasion since 2002 the triple Major winning Irishman has competed in Holland’s only Tour event.

Confirmation of Harrington’s KLM Open entry comes after news he will end a 13-year appearance drought by competing a week earlier in the Omega European Masters at Crans Montana, Switzerland.

Harrington has contested the KLM Open on just five occasions and thanks to www.golfstats.com we can tell you his record of achievement in the Dutch event.

His first appearance was in 1996 when Harrington missed the cut at Hilversum and his results since then have been T-51st (1998 Hilversum), T-28th (2000 Zandvoort), T-9th (2001 Zandvoort) and a best finish of T-3rd in 2002 at Hilversum.

The effort saw the Dubliner jump three places to World No. 8.

However with Harrington now not having won in over five years he is presently ranked No. 86 on the rankings.

And Harrington has been forced into returning to the European Tour given he failed to qualify for the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Play-Off Series.

The total purse up for grabs in Switzerland and Holland is Euro 4m whereas Harrington is missing out on a slice of the $US 16m on offer during the same fortnight Stateside.
