After spending a lot of time competing in the States this season Ireland’s Shane Lowry will now concentrate on competing more on the European Tour.
Lowry tees up in today’s commencing BMW International Open ranked No. 86 in the world but after interspersing the first six months of the year accepting five invitations to compete on the PGA Tour.
“It’s great to be back playing on the European Tour which will always be my home,” he said ahead of the Munich event.

“America was a great experience where I think I learned a lot though it’s hard to put a finger on exactly what I learned.
“But I know back here it’s where I can win and there are some big summer tournaments coming up.
“I am looking forward to playing here at Eichenreid again. I have shot a couple of low scores here in past and I feel the course suits me.
“All the par fives are reachable in two so it’s going to be a low scoring week. But after the rain in this area the rough is pretty thick so the big importance is to drive the ball onto the fairways and the way I have been playing I am confident I can do that.”
In fact, Lowry will play a further two events in the States including the August 1st starting WGC – Bridgestone Invitational and his reward in capturing last October’s Portugal Masters, and the following week’s PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
Joining Lowry in the Bavarian capital is Peter Lawrie, Gareth Maybin and David Higgins.
