Big-hitting American Dustin Johnson revealed he will warm-up for next month’s Open Championship playing a number of practice rounds in and around Dublin in the week prior to golf’s oldest Major.
“Dermot Desmond has got myself and a few buddies organised to play a couple of courses like Portmarnock so it should be good fun,” said the World No. 23.
“So we’re in Dermot’s good hands and having come close in the British Open the past couple of years it should be good practice.”
Johnson is competing this week in Munich ahead of a three week break leading into the third Major of the season.
And after finishing well down the field with a 17-over par tally in last week’s US Open, Johnson is looking forward to ‘opening the shoulders’ and attacking the Munchen Einchenried course where fellow American John Daly set the tournament record of 27-under par in 2001.

The famed Portmarnock Golf Club and one of the venues Dustin Johnson will tackle ahead of next month’s Open Championship.
