Paul Lawrie Slams Augusta National Officials Despite Caroline Wozniacki Being Allowed To Hit Tee Shot.

Paul Lawrie has slammed Augusta National officials in not allowing his youngest son, Michael to play a tee shot on the final hole of yesterday’s Par 3 Contest.

The former Open Champion was about to have Michael, who competed in the recent Scottish Boys Championship, hit a shot at the final tee but officials stepped forward declaring he was not allowed to do so.

Lawrie later used Twitter to remark: “The officials wouldn’t let Michael hit tee shot at last hole today in par 3 contest. Poor show IMO (In my opinion) suppose to be fun event”.

Yet Augusta National allowed Caroline Wozniacki to play a tee shot from the ninth that was shown on TV around the world and despite the Dane’s shot landing in the water some 50-feet off the tee.

And there was the sight of Bubba Watson’s one-year old son sitting on a green and dropping a ball into the hole along with a number of children doing cartwheels after Nick Watney had aced the ninth hole.
