Michelson Delivers Callaway Wire-To-Wire Waste Management Phoenix Open Success

Four time Major Champion, Phil Mickelson delivered Callaway a huge early season windfall leading from start to finish to capture the Waste Management Phoenix Open in Arizona.

Mickelson also jumped a dozen places to No. 10 in the world in capturing his 41st PGA Tour success and just a week after arch rival Tiger Woods won at Torrey Pines.

Mickelson was never headed in shooting rounds of 60, 65, 64 and a last day 67 to win by four shots for a massive 28-under par tally.

And Mickelson achieved his first success of 2013 thanks, in large part, to his Callaway RAZR Fit Xtreme Driver.

After three rounds Mickelson was placed 12th in the field in Driving Distance while he notched the  longest drive all week in sending a booming 358 yards drive during his second day play.

Mickelson said:  “Yeah, this RAZR Fit Xtreme is one of the hottest drivers I’ve seen as far as keeping the spin down, easy to hit…”

“This driver spins so low that I can have more loft on the club, making it easier to hit. This has got to be good for every player I would think, but it sure as heck is good for me. And by having it be a low spin driver with enough loft, and because it’s that RAZR Fit Xtreme where you can fit it, I was able to get it dialed in to where it goes straight.

“But I’m able to make the same golf swing as my irons so you’ll see me extend down the target line, you won’t see this kind of tilt because it’s not enough loft to get up and it’s not low enough spin to not float, and it has been‑‑ it really could be a revolutionary club for me.

“Possibly all golfers but certainly for my game, because if I drive it like this and feel as easy as I do over the driver, my iron‑‑ the strength of my game is my iron play, so if I can drive it like I did and with the ease with which I did and the misses be where they were, then this could be a really big deal for me.”

Phil’s iron play with the RAZR X Muscleback Irons has also been sensational through 3 rounds. He led the field in GIR at 88.89%. While he also found the groove with his Odyssey putter  averaging 1.521 Putts per GIR (2nd in the field through Saturday).

Also in Phil’s bag from Callaway/Odyssey:
Callaway RAZR X Muscleback Irons (4-PW)
Callaway JAWS Wedges (52*, 60*, 64*)
Odyssey Black Series Tour Design #9
Callaway HEXBlack Tour golf ball.
