World No. 1 Rory McIlroy has turned down legendary Arnold Palmer indicating he will not contest the 2013 Bay Hill Invitational and hosted each year by Palmer in Orlando.
Now Graeme McDowell has indicated he will not contest the Jack Nicklaus hosted Memorial event held each year in May at Nicklaus’ famed Muirfield Village course in Dublin, Ohio.
And it’s not as though McDowell is getting offside with the 18-time Major winning Nicklaus as the 2010 US Open winner has never ever previously contested the event.
McDowell is reporting as saying today: “I’m dying to go there. But I looked at the schedule and, nope, I can’t go.”
