Graeme McDowell’s Finger In Good Hands Thanks To Ex-British Army Surgeon.

Of course, former U.S. Open champion feared the worst when he had his right hand accidentially slammed in the door of his on-course hotel room.

McDowell had visions of having broke his hand or at least, broken the ring finger of his hand.

However he didn’t realise the extent of the experience of the on-course doctor that attended to his injury with the doctor having previously worked as a surgeon with the British Army, and sadly during his time he revealed he had to operate on amputating over 200 arms and limbs from injuries sustasined by combat troops fighting in worn-torn locations as Afghanistan.

So while McDowell was in an awful lot of pain, and then braveley fought through to shoot a third round four under par 68, his concern was ‘minor’ when compared to career of the doctor who attended him.
